We Are So In Love...

With the two most beautiful babies...

Announcing the grand arrival of...

Tyler Kevin Jenkins and Gracie Ann Jenkins

Born Saturday March 14 via C-Section

Ty came first at 6:18 pm and his little sister a mere two minutes later at 6:20 pm.

Tyler weighed a nice husky 7 lbs. 3 oz. and Gracie came in at 4 lbs. 15 oz. (yes...that is 12 lbs of baby!)

They looked and sounded beautifully. The doctors and everyone in the room were amazed at the size of Ty. They all told me "good job" and that my uterus was incredibly thin. Kevin watched the entire surgery and I am sure has a story to tell. (I will leave that to him) As for me it was not at all as bad as I had thought it would be. It didn't matter once I heard those sweet criess for the first time. However, recovery seems to be the challenge. I just want to be able to take care of my babies but I am a little limited.

Anyway, we are home now from the hospital and are continually exhausted and awake. But there is no greater thing in the entire world!!

We made it!

Just a quick update. We are at 36 weeks!

When we first found out we were having twins, I just hoped and prayed we would make it this far. We feel so grateful and are so blessed to have them still in the womb. I know we have strong little ones.

As of our ultrasound yesterday, their little bums hadn't turned and are breech. This is really no surprise as I feel their little feet kicking me low all the time. Our c-section is scheduled for March 19th. So unless they decide to choose their own birthday, then 13 more days and we will get to meet them. :)

So go ahead and make your guesses now, will they hold on till the 19th or will it be another day?

Yes, I have contractions all the time. They seem to be worse at night. My doctor says when they get to be 5 min. apart then we can go in.

I would love for our little girl to gain a little bit more weight, so as long as I find some way to get some sleep in the next two weeks then I know I can go to the 19th.

Thank you for all your sweet thoughts and prayers. We are so excited to introduce you to the other half of our family.

Twins Update at 33 weeks!

Yea, we have made it to 33 weeks! Our next goal number is 36 weeks and then it is icing on the cake after that. We can do it little ones!

Our little ones are both growing well, our son still being on the big side and our daughter on the small side. They are actually considered discordinate because of their size difference. As a result we go to the hospital twice a week for "non stress tests". This is where they hook me up to the fetal monitor and watch how the babies hearts are reacting and their movement. It isn't stressful for the babies, a little stressful for their mommy if they aren't reaciting right away. But so far so good, we have passed each time. The novelty of this event is certianly wearing off as our hospital isn't that close. But we want to make sure they are still thriving.

As of Thursday, both babies were breech and the likelihood of them turning statistically isn't great. Therefore, we are planning a C-section for mid March. So they have a few weeks to beat the odds and turn their little bums around.

Kevin and I are both thrilled and excited as the anticipation of meeting our twins is growing nearer. We are just so thankful for all the love and support of our friends and family.

28 weeks...

It feels so good to be at 28 weeks! We had a ultrasound last week and are happy to report that both babies look good and are growing at thier rate. YEA! They were both in the breech position for the first time, but by the end of the appt. our son had moved to head down again. So who knows what their ending position will be. We are very excited and are hoping they stay in there for at least 8 more weeks. I am currently still working but also taking it easy. Hopefully I can work for a couple more weeks, we'll just have to see. I love being pregnant and it is always the best feeling to feel them move around. We very often play "guess that body part" when there seems to be one poking out. So fun!

Five Fabulous Years...

Five years ago today Kevin and I were married in the most beautiful temple for time and all eternity and today I couldn't be happier. Happy Anniversary to my best friend, my rock, my everything...my eternal companion Kevin.

I thought I would share a few memories from our five fabulous years:

1st year: Definately the adjustment year, but nonetheless fun. We started off in Rexburg where I would stomp through the snow and barely make it to class. Kev worked in the book store in the technology department. We moved to Idaho Falls and lived with his Grandma for a month. Then we moved to Rigby and lived next to his parents. We both went to school, Kev also took classes in Pocatello to get his Real Estate license. I worked at a daycare. Busy we were!

2nd year: The highlights for me this year were when I graduated with my bachelors degree in April and then was offered a fourth grade teaching postition over the summer. Yes, it was then I became Kev's "sugar mama". Kev was busy with school and graduated in December, but was also selling real estate. This was a great year for us, having fun with friends and going on lots of dates.

3rd year: The year of change! Kev was accepted to the University of Washington masters program and so we made the move to the Pacific Northwest in August. I started teaching my multiage class which was extremely overwheming at first. I wouldn't have made it without Kevin's help. This was a year of much heartache, loss and personal growth for us, which helped us grow together as well.

4th year: We did much exploring this year. Kev settled well into school and had fun with his friends. I too settled into my new school and loved working there. Over the summer Kevin did an internship in Logan, Utah, so we lived with his aunt and her family in Farmington. This was a great experience and one we will always remember with fondness. Also a year with much heartache but much happiness too.

5th year: Our celebration year! Kevin graduated with his masters of healthcare administration degree and then began his fellowship. Soon after this we found out our family of two would be doubling to four. This has been a year of much faith and hope for us.

What a journey we are on! A journey that at times feels like a roller coaster, but there is no one I would rather ride with than Kevin. I have learned alot in the last five years and hope to learn lots more in the years to come. But there is one thing I am sure of and that is there is no greater gift than that of an eternal marriage. I am so thankful for that wonderful day five years ago.

Thank you for letting me reflect a little and be a little mushy. Here's to the wonderful gift that marriage can be.

Washington Winter Wonderland

It has been quite the week for Washington...I am not sure they have known exactly how to handle all this winter weather. It all started last weekend when it started getting real cold and then we woke up to snow Sunday morning. There wasn't alot of snow but enough to cancel church. Then we had a two hour late start for school on Monday due to some icy conditions. It wasn't too bad though. It didn't stop Kevin and I from celebrating his birthday.

Yep, he turned 28 on December 15th, he likes to think of himself as a sweet Christmas baby. His mom tells the story of him coming home in a Christmas sock. It is rather cute. But he had a great birthday. At work they sang to him and ate cake. Then we went to one of his favorite restaurants, PF Changs and thanks to my sister ate very well. It was an excellent evening and our friend Josh was able to join us. Happy 28th Birthday Kev! I love you!

On Tuesday we had another two hour late start at school and then it was that night that the snow rolled in. We got snow for the next two days which led to no school for the rest of the week! Gotta love snow days! Friday it was rather calm, but the snow came once again on Saturday. Which leads me to today when the snow just continued to fall, so no church yet again.

It is beautiful and since we are staying here for Christmas, it mine as well be white! But good luck to all the travelers out there....be safe.

Thanksgiving with family and friends...

Jandi and I have tons of pictures of us at college together and now we have our prego pictures together. It was so nice seeing her and Kenny over the weekend. We look forward to meeting little baby Ludwig soon.


It was great spending time with my brother Chris, he is so sweet. I am so glad he was able to leave the sunshine for a few days and come feast with us. We love you Chris!

My favorite girl ever! I love spending time with my sister Melissa and am always happy to spend the holidays with her. We made our yummy rolls together and then we went to see Twilight. I wouldn't have wanted to see it with anyone else. She is going to be the best auntie and has already spoiled her neice and nephew. We are so grateful for her and love her lots.

Three out of Four not bad! We missed you Nick. Kevin and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are so thankful for our family and friends.
