Birthday Part 1

We threw the twins a big birthday party on March 3rd at a fun place called Jump. We got to have up to 25 kids come and had the whole place to ourselves for an hour and 15 minutes. Then we moved into the party room and had pizza, cupcakes and presents. Ty and Gracie had a blast. It was so fun to see them playing and enjoying all their friends. We are grateful for all who came to celebrate with us. It was extra special having Auntie Mel and Grandpa and his girlfriend Lisa come down from Portland for the weekend too. Can't believe my babies are 3!

Toward the end Ty just wanted to play with Grandpa. So glad he came down for the weekend to help us celebrate.

Discovery Village

Here we go, time to play catch up.

A few weeks ago we met our friends at Discovery Village for a fun playdate. The kids had a blast playing on the toys, in the market, and most of all with the water and rocks.

I often wonder if this is foreshadowing for their future, will Gracie always be stealing Ty's friends away from him.


Brotherly Love! Ty says all the time, "Mom I play with baby". Sometimes he is good at playing with him and sometimes he is just too rough with him.


Gracie girl! She use to do this all the time when she was little and we would say, "Gracie wins!"


They are like three peas in a pod! Gracie, Ty and Tad such good friends.


We are missing Tad's sister Grace from our picture though. She is a year older than the twins but they still love her and love playing with her too.

It is always nice to let the kids explore, play and best of all get worn out for bedtime. A fun day at Discovery Village.

Swimming Lessons

The last part of January we started doing swim lessons with the twins at the YMCA. I have been wanting to do this for awhile and we finally were able to do it. It is quite the family event. As we have to do evening classes so Kev can go with me and then we put Zac in the childwatch.

Gracie loved every minute of it from the beginning. She wants to wear her swimsuit all the time and on swim days would wear it all day sometimes. She loves the water and enjoyed learning new things and singing songs.


Ty was very apprehensive about swim lessons. The water made him nervous and the first lesson he cried and clung to me. However, we made progress because by the second lesson he wasn't as scared and loved to jump in the water. His favorite was when they climbed on their teachers lap and jumped off the diving board into our arms. So fun. He really enjoyed lessons after that.


All ready for swimming! Ty calls it the "YCI" "Mom, we go to the YCI, Zac play in the playroom and Ty and Gracie swim!"


Our last class! We were in the other side of the pool tonight and it was rather cold. Their instructer was Jessica and we all had a great time doing swimming!


Hopefully when they are old enough to take lessons without us in the water, they won't be so afraid now.

Kids make holidays so much more fun! Valentines day was a hit at our house. Kevin did such a nice job giving everyone valentines.

The twinners loved their treats of course. They each got a book too and enjoyed reading that.


I made heart shaped pancakes. Maybe next year we make them pink.


Gracie and Ty both got valentine day sticker cards. They loved decorating their cards with the stickers.

We had a fun day eating way too much chocolate. And we even got a babysitter and went out for dinner. Such a lovely treat!

Best Buds

Here is Ty with his first real buddy. This is my friend Brittany's youngest son. He is 6 months younger than Ty and his name is Tad. Ty calls him "Tadee" because I guess we just like to add "ee" on to the end of names.

They are two peas in a pod and have so much fun together. It has been neat to watch their friendship grow over the last year. They play really well together and love to be boys. It is nice for Ty to have a wrestling buddy. I know Gracie appreciates it as well. Ty will tell me all about his playdates with Tad. And he will be so excited when I tell him we are going to see Tad.

He will constantly say, "Ty play with Tad Mom!" Have I mentioned that Ty talks in third person. It is too cute.

They love nursery as long as they are together. And I love hearing their conversations with each other lately. They will really talk to each other even though I am not always sure what they are saying.



I hope they stay friends for life. Such fun boys!

Zac turns 1!

My baby boy turned 1 on the 5th. He was our little super bowl baby this year since his birthday fell on super bowl Sunday. My dad and his girlfriend Lisa came up from Portland to celebrate with us.

On Saturday we did Zac's first birthday dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe. This is where we went for the twins first birthday too.

I don't know why we keep thinking this is a fun place to take our kids. We always sit by the elephants and they always seem to get scared!


People say these two look alike, I honestly don't see it...well maybe the smile.

Despite being a little scared when the thunder lightening came, we all had a good time. And the food wasn't too bad either.


Grandpa made Zac a yummy cookie cake which we enjoyed eating after dinner.


He really got into it and loved it.


Hehe...I love this picture. He really is saying thanks for the cool hat Auntie. He had it on his head but he pulled it off. My sister is the best Auntie we could ever ask for. She loves our kids and is so thoughtful with each of them. She always makes them feel special on their birthdays and gives them the best gifts. Zac recieved two hats, multiple cute outfits to be worn in the summer, a vtech kitty toy that he loves to chase (as does Gracie) and a stuffed dinosaur. Thank you!


Grandpa and Lisa gave Zac this really nice church outfit which is just adorable on him. Along with two other outfits and a fun drum toy. I was very impressed with their choice of clothes for Zac. Thank you!


I mean really how cute is he? He hates my flash and always closes his eyes when I take a picture.


Happy Birthday handsome boy! We love you so!


Zac also received money from Grandma and Grandpa F. which will buy him his new carseat cover for his forward facing carseat that he so desperately wanted. :) A giftcard from Grandma and Grandpa Jenkins. A magnet farm set that he loves playing with from our friends the Musgraves. And lots of cards from other family, Thank you!

The Cake! So Zac got his own personal cake for turning 1. This was all his!

We had our friends Bill and Brittany Musgrave over along with their 4 kids to eat cake and ice cream with us. It was fun eating super bowl food, watching a little football, and celebrating Zac's birthday together. I am so thankful for good friends.
We started the tradition of having seseme chicken wings and fried rice for Zac's birthday dinner. This comes from my siblings who always had to have this on thier birthday. It turned out great though.



He wasn't sure what to think at first.


But he soon learned what it was all about.


And eventually started to really enjoy it.


He had a handprint on his head. He was covered with cake.


I am not sure how much he actually ate, but we know he likes chocolate.

Such a fun first birthday for the sweetest one year old I know. Zac is my angel baby all the way. I know I have said this several times but he is so wonderful. I always thought maybe it just felt so nice because one baby is so much easier than two but I really just think its Zac. He is amazing. We feel so blessed to have him in our family. Kev calls him "blessing" on a regular basis. His smiles and laughs melt my heart everyday. I am a sucker when I hear him cry.

At his one year check up my pediatrician made the comment that he isn't good birth control for us. I just looked at her and she said, most third babies are difficult and make the parents quit having kids. She then said, but not Zac you'll want more with how good he is. I thought that was funny.

Oh Zac! Zac attack, ZZ, Zacee! Thanks for coming to our family, you are an answer to our prayers. We couldn't love you more!

I am playing catch up here. Here are some things we have been up to over the last month.

Not Gracie Girl, its Miss Rapunzel! She is really starting to love dress up and pretend play. Thank goodness because I was slightly worried I wasn't cultivatiing her imagination enough.


These were their Christmas dress outfits. I just fell in love with Gracie's dress and the boys outfits just matched so well. I have to say it is work getting my kids all dressed up but I secretly love doing it. They are too cute!


Do we look like twins?


Maybe someday I will get all three to look at me. Still pretty cute though.


Fort time with Daddy, a favorite Sunday activity.


Gracie and Ty's best friends Grace and Tad. We love them. Just having a little pajama party, eating popcorn and watching Cars 2.

I cannot keep this kid out of the chalk on the easel! Now when he goes over to it and stands up he peeks around to see if I am watching because he knows I am going to say, "Zac Christopher no, no!" and then he laughs. It is a fun little game we play.


This boy may be small but he loves food! Such a good eater. He wants everything we eat. Soon little man soon you will be able to eat it all!
